The 2010 Trumped Competition is off to another amazing start! Right now, 50 teams from Dalhousie, Saint Mary’s, NSCC, and MSVU are running through the city fundraiser for the Canadian Cancer Society, and flexing their creative muscles while drafting a full storyboard for Egg Films. Pretty neat! Our success wouldn’t have been possible if it weren’t for your support and dedication to our projects. We would like to thank you for your support in making this event successful by inviting you to our first boardroom ceremony taking place:

McNally Theatre Auditorium (Main Entrance), Saint Mary’s University
On Wednesday we will be announcing the total amount of money raised by our competitive participants, as well as which teams will be advancing to the second round of competition. Our goal is to raise over $50,000 for the Canadian Cancer Society, which would make Trumped the largest independent fundraiser in Nova Scotia. This event promises to capture the passion and energy brought forth by these students, and will showcase the first round storyboard winners!
Also, we will have two incredible guest speakers:
Boris Mirtchev, Owner, Hamachi Group of Restaurants - Hear his entrepreneurial success story! Hamachi Group has recently been named the 2009 Small Business of the Year by Progress Magazine, and has continuously won awards for the Best Sushi, Best Cold Food – Sushi and Best Hot Food from The Coast Magazine.
Shawn King, VP & Chief Creative Officer, Extreme Group - Speaking on success in the advertising industry, and what brand development is all about, Extreme Group has been the recipient of numerous awards for their work, pushing the limits in every direction. Extreme Group’s collection of titles include: Top Ten Agencies in Canada, by Marketing Magazine, Small Business of the Year, a Bronze Lion at the International Cannes Advertising Festival, Most Creative and Memorable Ad, from the International Print Ad Awards, and Marketer of the Year, to name a few.
Other companies in attendance include: Nubodys, Fusion Printing, College Pro, Egg Films, SMUBDC, and the Canadian Cancer Society. If you want to see what the current generation of students are capable of in just 21 short days, or meet local leaders in business, the 2010 Trumped Competition is for you!
