St. Mary’s University Student Team Bridges the Gap Between Business Community & Students
St. Mary’s University has embarked on an community outreach project called Trumped to provide university students with outside of the classroom experience by bridging the gap between the business community and students. Students are given tasks that test what they’ve learned in the classroom and are given the opportunity to bring it to life in the real business world. Trumped provides the hands on experience that most university courses lack.
Student Fundraiser Takes Its Cue From The Donald
There was a fair bit of nail-biting going on at Saint Mary’s University last night. Students participating in a fundraising competition styled after The Apprentice TV show faced cuts in the “boardroom” last night. Forty-seven teams from Dalhousie, Saint Mary’s and Mount Saint Vincent universities were reduced to 24 last night. The charitable — but fiercely competitive — fundraiser for the Canadian Cancer Society gives the four-member teams three tasks. Only the top performing teams make the cut after each task is completed.
