Sixty six teams of university students from Saint Mary’s, Dalhousie and Mount Saint Vincent, and students from the Nova Scotia Community College got creative in Round One of the Fourth Annual Trumped Competition pitting creative and innovative post-secondary students from across Nova Scotia against each other in three exciting real-world business challenges spanning three months.

The first task challenged teams to create a storyboard from scratch for the Canadian Cancer Society’s new Join The Fight ad campaign, in addition to raising awareness through a grassroots fundraising initiative.

Two hundred students from Dalhousie, Saint Mary’s, NSCC and MSVU participated in the 2010 Trumped Competition. The students ran through the city fundraising for the Canadian Cancer Society and flexed their creative muscles while drafting a full storyboard for Egg Films. On Wednesday, February 17 the groups came together at Saint Mary's University where it was announced that the teams raised an amazing $83,000 in 21 days!

The total far exceeded their original goal of $50,000. Great job everyone!
